Barona
Set among San Diego's gentle, rolling foothills, Barona Creek Golf Club blends beautifully with the natural vegetation and gives the impression of a wildscape barely tamed. This perception was celebrated and encouraged by Barona Band of Mission Indians.
Together with course architect Gary Roger Baird of Gary Roger Baird Design International, with Todd Eckenrode as project architect, they set out to create a challenging championship venue that would embrace the generous spirit of their native lands. Five sets of tees ensure that players of all abilities discover a course that suits their desired level of play. The championship layout from the Black Tees boasts a course rating of 74.5 and 139 slope which has already challenged the world's best, and earned Barona Creek a ranking as one of California's top courses, alongside Pebble Beach, Spyglass, and Pasatiempo.
